Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about our age and date tools.
General
Is AgeCalculator4u free to use?
Yes. All calculators on this site are free. No registration or payment is required.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can use every calculator immediately without signing up.
How accurate are the results?
Our calculators use standard calendar date logic, accounting for varying month lengths and leap years. Results are intended for everyday, informational use. For legal, medical, or official purposes, always verify with the relevant authority or professional.
What calculators are available on this site?
AgeCalculator4u offers a main age calculator on the homepage plus 129+ specialized tools — including exact age, birthday countdown, days lived, zodiac sign, age difference, eligibility checks, and many more. Browse the full list on our All Calculators page.
Can I use these calculators for official or legal documents?
Our tools are designed for general information and convenience. They are not a substitute for certified records, government systems, or professional advice. For passports, visas, court filings, medical decisions, or insurance, confirm your age with the official source that requires it. See our Disclaimer for more detail.
Using the Calculators
Why do I select day, month, and year separately?
Separate fields reduce date-format confusion (DD/MM vs MM/DD) and help prevent invalid dates such as 31 February. This format works consistently across all our tools.
What is the “as-of” or reference date?
Some calculators let you calculate age as of today or any other date. This is useful for forms, eligibility checks, or historical age on a specific day.
How do I find a specific calculator?
Visit the All Calculators page and use the search box to filter by name or category.
What is the difference between “exact age” and “standard age”?
Standard age (used on the homepage) shows how old you are today in years, months, and days. Exact age lets you pick any reference date — useful when a form asks for your age on a specific day in the past or future. Both use the same underlying calendar logic.
What is “running age” vs “completed age”?
Completed age counts only full years you have finished — the age most forms expect. Running age is the year of life you are currently in (for example, during your 26th year). We offer dedicated calculators for both; choose the one that matches what you need.
How does the calculator handle leap years?
Leap years are included automatically. If you were born on February 29, the tool applies standard leap-year rules when counting age and finding your next birthday. You do not need to adjust dates manually.
Why might my age differ by one year from a quick mental calculation?
Subtracting your birth year from the current year ignores whether your birthday has passed this year. Our calculators count completed years, months, and days precisely, so the result may be one year lower until your birthday occurs.
Can I calculate age between two dates that are not birth dates?
Yes. Tools such as the Age Between Two Dates and Exact Age calculators measure the span between any two calendar dates, not only date of birth.
What if I was born at midnight or in a different timezone?
Most calculators on this site use calendar dates (day, month, year) without time-of-day unless a specific tool asks for a birth time. For “My Age in [Country]” pages, local timezone is used for the reference moment. If precise time matters for your situation, use a tool that includes a time field or confirm with an official record.
Birthday & Milestone Tools
How does the birthday countdown work?
Enter your date of birth and the calculator finds your next birthday on the calendar, then shows how many days remain. If your birthday is today, it displays a celebration message instead of a countdown. Try the Birthday Countdown tool.
What is “days lived”?
Days lived is the total number of calendar days from your birth date through a reference date (usually today). It is a fun milestone view of your life span. See the Days Lived calculator.
Can I find my zodiac sign from my birth date?
Yes. The Zodiac Sign calculator uses your birth month and day to show your sun sign. It is for entertainment and general reference, not professional astrological readings.
What are “My Age in [Year]” and birth-year pages?
These are dedicated pages for common searches — for example, “My Age in 2020” or “Age Calculator for 2000 Born.” They use the same date logic as the main calculators but default to helpful reference dates or birth years. Browse the calculators directory to find more.
Sharing & URLs
Can I share my result with someone?
Yes. Use the share options on the calculator page. The page URL can include your inputs so others see the same result when they open the link.
Will the shared link expose my personal information?
Share links encode the dates you entered in the URL path or query string. Anyone with the link can see those dates and the calculated result. Only share links with people you trust, and avoid posting full birth dates publicly if privacy matters to you.
Can I bookmark a calculation for later?
Yes. After you calculate, bookmark the page in your browser. The URL retains your inputs so you can return to the same result without re-entering dates.
Privacy & Data
Is my date of birth sent to your servers?
No. Age calculations are performed in your browser. We do not collect or store your birth date for calculator use. See our Privacy Policy for more information.
Do you use cookies?
We may use essential cookies required for basic site functionality. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Do you sell or share user data?
No. We do not sell personal data. Calculator inputs are not stored on our servers for age calculations. For analytics and hosting details, read our Privacy Policy.
Is the site safe to use on public Wi‑Fi?
The site is served over HTTPS. Because age calculations run in your browser and birth dates are not saved to our database, using the calculators on public Wi‑Fi carries the same general caution as any website — avoid sharing sensitive links on untrusted networks if you are concerned about shoulder surfing.
Eligibility & Special Calculators
Can I check exam or job age eligibility?
Yes. We offer eligibility-style calculators for common cut-off date scenarios. Search the calculators directory for your exam or requirement. Always double-check against the official notification — rules can change.
How do age-difference calculators work?
Enter two people’s dates of birth and the tool shows the gap between them in years, months, and days. Useful for siblings, couples, or any comparison. Try the Age Difference Calculator.
What is chronological age?
Chronological age is time elapsed since birth, measured in calendar units. It is the standard “how old are you?” answer. Some specialized calculators (for example corrected or gestational age) exist for medical or premature-birth contexts — use the calculator that matches your scenario.
Technical Issues
The calculator is not showing a result. What should I do?
Make sure all required fields are filled in with a valid date. Try refreshing the page or using a modern browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge. If the problem continues, contact us with the calculator name and what you entered.
Does the site work on mobile phones?
Yes. The site is responsive and designed to work on phones, tablets, and desktops.
Which browsers are supported?
Modern versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge are fully supported. Internet Explorer is not supported. Keep your browser updated for the best experience.
Why does the page URL change after I calculate?
The URL updates so you can bookmark or share your exact inputs and result. This is intentional and helps search engines index useful result pages. Use Reset to clear the form and return to a clean state.
The shared link shows a different result for someone else. Why?
Results depend on the dates in the URL and, for some tools, the reference date (for example “today”). If a countdown or “current age” link is opened on a different day, the result may change. For a fixed historical age, use Exact Age with a specific reference date in the link.
Can I use the calculators offline?
An internet connection is required to load the site. Once loaded, calculations run locally in your browser, but revisiting or sharing pages needs connectivity.
